multimedia and the 50 million dollar question

New xbox 360 – I’m loving it – you know me, avid gamer, gun slinger and pitch bitching. I’ve always loved games, especially the Ninteno – old school – hell, I STILL remember the contra code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right a, b, a, b, select, start. I’m always amazed how many people know that code by heart – live or die! Video games consoles, like computers, have changed tremendously over the years – requiring more processing power and memory to push out the highest pixel rating enjoyment for the masses. Like the internet, video games are changing the way we communicate (not just gamers) and control our multi-media distractions. Now we’re sitting on the cusp of a new technology standard for video games and a test bed for emerging and upcoming technologies.

The birth of the xbox…

Blows PS2 away by years – don’t believe the hype or stock of games PS has, look at the hardware, interface and network technology (the network side isn’t common discussion). Now we’re near the birth of a new device, one that IS a PC and a GAME CONSOLE – don’t believe me – read:

These devices will utilize new features of IPTV (internet protocol for televisions, VOIP (voice over internet protocols). IPTV functionality comes in the name of ‘game view’ which enables gamer players to watch other games take place – sit-in real time tournaments and watch the pro’s work. The voice feature enables the console owner to carry out conversations similar to current telephonic standards – both future and cutting edge technologies. I’m pumped for this new system – I bought my xbox day one and have enjoyed many, many hours sweating, screaming, laughing and swearing my way to victory remember – victory is MINE. Now I sit patiently, reading omnivorous amounts of technical data and leisure data regarding the future of console gaming – November can’t get here sooner…

And now…

the 50 million dollar question….

What would you do with it? Specifically, you got this large amount of money solely based on your skills. We’ll use Dave Chappelle as the basis for discussion – too some degree.

He’s got the show on Comedy Centralthat’s blown his career sky high - Far beyond Half Baked, Undercover Brother and numerous cameo appearances. His live shows are hilarious – much better than the edited versions of his shows – I’m saying, you cant be a fan of this guy and not see him live, in his element. Would money really change your thoughts or make you more attune /aware of the thoughts? I'm sure it's a bias statment since most of us wont get a 50 million dollar raise for our jobs. I'm curious about YOUR thoughts, you hear mine with my xx,000 a year salary - it's beyond money though, it's about personal shit, stuff that doesnt come out until you find or acquire new wealth, life or love...

So...

Take a look at the news from last week:

I’m sorry – I lost my other bookmarks from last week… I had 3 articles, only 1 survived!

Now read today’s:

There’s another time article from Sunday morning on Time.com, similar to the salon.com article.

I feel for the nigga; trust issues, inner-circle problems, mental stress – hell, I don’t have 50 million dollars and a tv show or family to worry about but I feel/understand him non-the-less. Sudden rise to fame and newly acquired wealth has to come with a downside and he’s dealing with it – much props – better than NOT dealing. I guess that’s my point… DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS, head on – fear, uncertainty, retrospective thoughts – the future of what could or may not be! If you require time away from your norm, in a secret spot in South Africa, park, beach or bedroom then take it! Deal with it – it’s not going to disappear or walk away from you. You think you could walk away from your problems; they’ll always be there… I’d also like to say that it’s very hard to deal with problems alone, arguing with your mind, recluse in your thoughts – it helps to have people WILLING to aid YOU in YOUR time of need. Someone objective, brutal and honest – sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s who.

Look around YOUR inner circle – do you have that? I surely didn’t – my fears and uncertainty caused me to change my life dramatically. I’m still scared, I still fear, but I DEAL. I didn’t have anyone or so I thought… This is how I came to the awareness of my inner circle – friends and lovers, enemies and associates. Now, a year later I see myself asking similiar questions to myself and to others, people I care about, random strangers, enemies. All of the drama we deal with is unique to the individual; sure, it may seem minute to others – hopefully the ears you’re bantering to can see how important these issues are for you. Hopefully you’re able to share what’s really going on inside your head, not holding back, exposing your heart – waiting for it crush or fill back up with life and energy. Take a chance; take a chance at love, life and the future – don’t regret, don’t think – act – the time is now – the future is tomorrow.

My best goes out to Dave Chappelle and the rest of you out there....
