technology and consumerism

I love technology….

I’m back to ‘micro-managing’ myself – necessary. I’ve managed to get most of my to-do list done, toss in a few surprises and get a couple laughs – the night hasn’t started yet – woot woot! Now it’s back to “Sun is shining” – weather isn’t sweet just yet – improved!

I magically swayed my cuz, Todd, to play 9 holes of golf - better than nothing. Technology enabled me to blog via my cell phone (geekiest-ever.com) – now it’s time to reap the rewards – 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One last thing – consumer benefits aka discount shopping. Does Walmart REALLY have the best prices? Judging by the variety of faces I saw today, I’d agree - ohh, the low prices were an incentive. People want products at cost, cheap. I b-lined for my products, observed people and decided to try an experiment. After my purchases @ WallyWorld I decided to re-purchase the same products at Giant Eagle. Immediately, I noticed they (GE) do not carry the same products… so my experiment is fucked to a certain point. The shoppers – people, weren’t as diverse or en mass – actually, they looked jaded. Hmmmm – There’s less people, name brand products but more price variations. Actually, the 5 products I found were more expensive than my 8 items purchased at Walmart – fuck my “advantage card” – what do you think? Low quality, cheap prices congested shopping or named brand products at higher prices with fewer shoppers and improved service? I wouldn’t pay 30 dollars for a bottle of bottom shelf liquor, even though it’s going to get my equally as fucked up as Grey Goose – Now I’m thinking about labels, their meanings and the impact on consumerism and other life choices....
