the beats....

...coming out my headphones today:

Deep Dish: George is On (international version)

You liked 18 or Play? I think you'll like this more... Give the stream a listen; quality tracks - versitile and refreshing! There are some loud glam rock guitar licks on here... woot!

The Wailers: Destiny, Rare Ska Sides

Ever hear The Wailers (Bunny, Bob and Peter) do oldska or cornershop singing? I have this on Vinyl and CD and I'd but it on tape if I could find it! I've turned many-o-heads onto this recording. Click on the album name (above) for a sample! My favorite track is "Brand new second hand" which isnt on the CD version - click HERE to hear the sample (in IE only)

Common: Be
This is one of the best Hip Hop cd's I've bought this year, right up there with the new Mos Def and KRS-One! Positive vibrations and realistic lyrics - Be!

The Gorillaz: Demon Dayz
Ahh, just what I needed today to touch my inner-gloom of being in the office. "Feels Good" - fucks yea!

Steve Porter: Live @ Space, Miami - click HERE if you want to download the mix - DONT BE A DICK, RIGHT-CLICK (save as)

...As far as this evenings music situation I'll probably rock Tabla Beat Science or some J-Boogie LP's. Today's a chill day; maybe I'll rock the Trojan Dub collection.

hmmmm

What have you listened to today?

Comments:
So the new Common record is good? I was considering buying that one.

let's see what's on the ipod today....
vintage prince (that's pretty much constant)

"T.R.O.Y" pete rock and CL Smooth

"shake it off" Mariah Carey (just because I find the lyrics comparison of a break up to a Calgon commercial so ridiculous as to be funny)

"joan" by butch walker ( sad but a great song nonettheless)

"la tortura" shakira featuring alejandro sanz (because if I buy the song, it will ensure they play the video full of her sexy dancing while covered in black paint more often)

Ella:

The Common cd is great. I thought it sounded better than the new Mos Def. The beats are solid; all the drum kits Kanye used are the same. The sample work is rather unique since they arent looped through the entire track.

If you want a copy I'll hook it up.

Pete Rock and CL.... good call!
