Today has been the worst_work_day_ever.com
Why?
Complete network outage, no outside internet connectivity. Samba server mysteriously dies and then the routers start fucking up.
Le sigh...
We fixed it, my boss and I - we're a good team. All the bullshit work was worth it today when he told me; "Good job John, I appreciate it". Funny (or maybe not) how a few words make the world seem brighter!
Ohh, Plus a kid from across the pond hooked me up with the Mitchell Brothers mixtape i've been looking for - str8 chillin!
Note to self (and to the disaster recovery plan I must come up with on Monday):
#smbpasswd -j server_name -r server_name -U Administrator%password
..and then a reboot = FIXED
I'm getting fucked up tonight. I may have chinese eyes all night and I'll probably reek of Sierra Nevada, Chimay and Vodka Redbull. I'm getting fucked up tonight, you can count on it.

Ohh the joy's of Samba!
Sounds like you got a proper fix! Do you need to re-issue the -U -N syntax daily or is it the same as applying the samba server to the domain?
I also found out that when our network drops offline (PDC and BDC) that I have to manually join the samba server back into the domain. I got funky errors for a few hours until I figured it out...something along the lines of "the semaphore timeout period has expired"
Crazy... but I'm glad it's over. Doesnt it feel good to fix serious problems?
