5 Questions and 5 Answers

...from Malcolm. Here are my answers to your questions. Some of them are long - I'm in a talkative (...typing) mood. Thanks for taking the time to ask....

1) If you were trying to convince me to move from Seattle to Pennsylvania what would you say?

Answer: First, I'd say the low cost of living is a good attraction. Take a look at this. Secondly, did you know Pittsburgh has the most bridges in the US? Pittsburgh has between 1900-2800 bridges, not including railroad bridges - and the figures do not count bridges longer than 8 ft!

...and what about bridges you ask. Well, having bridges criss-crossing the city makes for a)wonderful sites (depending on the latest update to said bridge) b)decent places to watch sunsets c)separate but connected communities - click here for the wonderful sites of Pittsburgh's bridges

"C" is the my favorite...

Due to the amount of bridges, Pittsburgh has many distinct areas; culturally, socially and economically speaking. You can go from a neighborhood to neighborhood, each with their own touch; Hassidic, Asian, Mexican (where I live), etc... You'll have the option to visit some wealthy neighborhoods, "urban" areas, trendy areas and your all around "american" neighborhood. Thanks to the bridges, each community seems isolated and unique.

Socially, Pittsburgh offers a variety of spots ranging from home-grown music venues, re-vamped steel sites (which are magically turned into a consumer-driven shopping/entertainment area) historical centers, sporting arena's, 'neighborhood' bars to the abstract art of Andy Warhol.

Yes, Pittsburgh has something for everyone - if you're willing to look!

2) I know you like to scratch and you like technology, if there was one technology that you think the DJ world lacks what would it be?

Answer: Hmmm, universal Bluetooth connectivity for all MIDI devices - wait, I think they already have that in 'the works' - THIS is what I'm talking about.

I think another great tool would be a human beat boxing drum machine, errr, wait... it's called Doug E Fresh - haha.

Another tool I'd love to have is Richie Hawtins customer mixer but my father is far from an electrical engineer. Here's more info on Hawtins Mixer

Seriously though; there isnt a technology that can replace a DJ who a)knows their records b)understands the concepts of mixing c) has _some_ skill - no technology can replace the human sickest_ever factor!

3) You used to be involved in "other" activities. If you knew that under any circumstance you would not get caught would you get involved again?

Answer: I've thought about it; wondering if I've made a mistake or not. Thinking upon these matters deeply; I realized I would not go back to my old ways - my choices werent mistakes!

For one, I wasnt happy with my life and lifestyle; "other" things being the root of my problems. Another factor are my thoughts on change; finding it / creating it - not letting it find me. Sure, I still think how things would be / could be if I were back in that life. However, I dont let these side thoughts entertain my mind for more than a second. The past is the past, what's done is done. I was long overdue for a change, and I've made them, and I continually make changes.

I'll never go back, never look back! I'm moving ahead; constantly going forward and making the best of my life with the changes and choices I've made. I've learned from the past and use my experiences to move forward with said knowledge as my aid (...when I need it).

4) We all have our favorite part of a woman's body, what's yours?

Answer: The small of a women's back; I love it! I'll rub a women's back all night; gently stroking the small of a ladies back...going up and down. I bet she's glad my hands are enormous; she loves it.

My other answer, well... I'm a guy and I like my badonkadonk ;-)

5) The past six months of my life have been the hardest but they have also been the most fulfilling because I have learned so much. Have you gone through your roughest period in life yet or do you think it's on the horizon. If you have already overcome your roughest period when was it?

Answer: Well, I think I've dealt my with my share of hardships. One example; meeting and talking with my father. I didnt know my father for 22 years. It took alot from me to meet him and hear his story. Even thought it was a rough period in my life it was also very rewarding. I'm glad I have closure to my "father issues".

Another hardship would be the past events of the last 2 years of my life. Getting laid off (...not fired) and leaving 'the game' put me in an odd and uncomfortable whirlwind I wasnt expecting but needed to go through. Hardships, yes. I learned soo much from my experiences, things I'm glad I had to go through... I can say this now. When these things were my 'now' it was hard for me to focus, understand and deal. Then again, my old saying "All subjects are linkages of cause and effect, even if comprehensible only in retrospect." would _always_ pop-up in my head; I knew life would have its rewards later down the road. Patience pays off if you know what you're being patient for...

...and I know I'll have more hardships in the future - tis the way of life. Sure, life is peachy (....just like a Georgia Peach) but there's always a rotten side to the fruits of life. There's always this balance. The drama and rough things I've gone through have made me a stronger, wiser and more consciously aware man. The joy and happiness I've experienced over the years always brings a smile to my face and puts into my mind why its worthwhile to go through both good and bad experiences. The good and positive things and my life give me hope...I know it gets better as I go through life!

My life is about balance, understanding and truth-pursuing. I'm certain I'll have different hardships in the future; I'm always certain my life will have more high points then low - but there will always be that balance; yin and yang.

...and I say this without worrying about all the "what if's" in life. What if this, what if that... it's bullshit! I'm here to live right now, not wonder and ponder about the improbability. Sure, it doesnt hurt to acknowledge what may (or may not) happen in the future (..what if) but it's rather moot to dwell on it. And is it fair to ones self to ponder on these thoughts if they're uncertain and ever-changing; no, it's not fair! I will live in the now, seeking understanding and enlightenment, and using my experience(s) to shape the uncertain and changing future - yin and yang style.
