...and the rebirth of the 2 hour thinking.

So I had time to dwell and sort out some thoughts I've had - goals, actions with a dash of ambition. I've had these thoughts bouncing in my head for awhile. Now, since I've moved, I feel confident I'll be able to work on and towards my areas of interest / goals - for what it's worth.

...and since I'm closer to 'civilization' (see # 24) (not that I was too far away) I'd like to do a few things by next year. Some require immediate action; others are a work in progress.

01) Take fencing lessons
...and to answer his question; I told Adam "It's cooler than shooting someone." Sure, it's not the most efficient way to stop _whomever_ - I'd rather use a sword vs a gun, thats just how I am. And to think on it, I'll never own a gun!

02) Get CWNA (certified wireless network administrator) certification by years end.
...and I'm very ambitious. Plus I want to expand my career. WiFi has been a fascination of mine for a few years. I have experience in WiFi development, deployment and administration. I'd like to put that knowledge on paper and use that piece of paper to move onto my next phase in life, professionally. Plus, I feel and know WiFi technologies will increase the use of and change the use of technology. This is what I got into technology for, this is what I want to be a part of... change! I'm excited thinking about it...

03) Get my passport
... I _need_ this if I'm to go to Germany next year!

04) Put more effort into a vacation to Germany for the World Cup in 2006
... Yes, I'm a soccer nut (slightly). I remember the insane sleeping schedule I put myself on just to watch the 2002 World Cup! I'm excited! I need to get my passport before I make plans to go. Saving $ shouldnt be too much of a problem but I must say, I need to invest time figuring out the total cost of this trip. GOAL......

05) Book more sets
... I think I've already made mention about one of my hobbies. Lately, the more I go out (and hear shitty dj's) the more I want to get back into the scene, so to speak. Terrible DJ's (...and bands) are the worst entertainment. I used to play out in public one a month, minimum. When I relocated I had 2 shows, both of them were house parties where I played for beer and $50 - blah. I miss the nights I'd made a bit more $, met people, play on a loud soundsystem and have heads loving it... it's priceless and I know it's an iskabibble moment I'm trying to explain - the look of peoples faces on the dancefloor and how that one blend, mix or scratch makes them loose their shit = priceless!

06) Purchase more studio equipment and more vinyl
... well, my second sequencer is broken. I'm going to confirm it's status tonight! I'd also like to do more Live PA sets, which requires decent hardware. I still salivate of the Roland 808 - I'll probably save up for it. I'd also like to get another groove box and / or another midi interface...something.

I'd also like to get cd-turntables. Is it cheating or using technology to ones advantage? CD Turnables have that 'auto blend' feature I'm not keen on. I'm saying, I've played at venues which had a 4 digit mixer with BPM counter and let me say, those were some of the easiest nights of dj'ing. Is it any different than counting out the BPM's in my head? Honestly, I dont think it made too much difference (..compared to standard mixers). Now, Instead of having 2 blinking read lights I have a numerical counter telling me how "off" my count is. And I must say, I have plenty of quality tracks on cd and mp3 that I cant use because I dont own 'modern' equipment.

...and Vinyl - god, can you ever have enough vinyl? HELL NO! I'd drop my monthly salary on vinyl if I could. ...That sound, gives me chills! I need to make a visit to 611 SOON

07) Golf weekend with the guys.
... yeah, this one is LONG overdue! Me, YT, Nick and Adam hitting the links. Drinking, puffing and enjoying the best way to ruin a walk ;-) - Who knows, I may break out the cut-off khaki's for this! Turns out we're probably going NEXT WEEKEND... where we're going is undetermined (at the moment) but I know this is going to be a 2 day event!

08) Camp Bisco
... and there are talks, emails and random text messages. I think I want to go, I'm fighting it for some reason. I guess I'm worried about the insanity that will take over my brain and body...it's been awhile! I wouldnt mind the insanity and find myself worried about the return to normal (or something like it). I know I have until the 12th to make a decision.

09) Labour of Love 2005
...click on "special events" - So yeah... look at the lineup! AVB, Deep Dish, Digweed, Blank & Jones... soo many names in this one illy spot. Plus it's in Toronto and I have heads up there to take care of me. I think a return trip up north is due. I still have 15 dollars of CA money to use...

10) Work on my house
... and this is a work in progress. Details I dont need to go into though. I've already delved into them. I'll update once I get certain areas of the house fixed. I know it's going to take time to fix up the house; time is on my side!

So, If anyone feels adventurous or just happens to be in said area I am looking for people to on the scene for #4, #8 and #9... number 9, number 9, number 9.... Sorry, I listened to the White Album last night.

If you're interested, let me know....

Ahh, it's 4:20 and I'm at work.... tobacco will due for now.
