At first I didn't want to believe that shit was that bad. In a sick ass way I almost looked forward to the news updates. But after a couple days one realizes the seriousness of the situation... actually 'seriousness' maybe an under statement. WE are dealing with some ill shit.
Talking to different folks from the New Orleans area, I realize that this is not some action pack drama. The Nation is going to show its TRUE feelings towards the lower class minority, point blank. I never like to use the "Race Card", but damn, do you notice a difference? After 9-11, we were all supposed to be Patriotic. But now we get to be selective…

How many regular ass Americans are out there, with the response to the news updates, of "...And? These folks would have been killing each other anyways or in Jail. Why save them?... Katrina (Ironic) is just speeding up the process!”
According to my friend that's from that area, these people pre-Katrina lived in sub-par conditions. America may look at the Big Easy as a great time to get drunk, but in lower class communities, folks didn't have anything... and they don't have less of anything now. They are firing guns in the air as distress calls.
Sources are telling me that they've established anywhere from 10k to 15k dead.... 3xs plus 9-11... And in the North East we're bitching about gas being $3... A person committed suicide in the stadium, who wasn't planning on committing suicide 3 days ago.... $3 fucking dollars!
Shit is chaos! And the sad part is that WE as a Nation are numb. We're a click away from forgetting, one button-press from changing the channel to our next event. I just remember that my house payment is due... We blog, We hold up signs, We honk horns, We debate, and at the end of it all WE do nothing or very little.
