the movements of gaia

...and so

Someone called me out on "...saying goodbye to the old" post that I made a few days ago. What I mean by calling me out, Joe, whom does not read my blog ended up giving me a huge shout-out during his weekly radio show. I found it extremely funny and odd because of all the stuff I've dwelled upon over the past few days...

And here I am, driving on 51S listening to THIS FM radio station and this familiar voice is calling ME out - giving me props and wishing me the best of luck. "This is to my good friend; someone who could understand what it means to 'blend' the best of everything and come out with a proper product." "This is to a friend, whom last year around this time had _drama_ going on; moving drama, family drama, financial drama, professional drama, social and personal drama - these are his movements; The Movements of Gaia (an old nickname from my tree-hugging days) - these are his records and what you'll soon here would be my version of his soundtrack."

...And by soundtrack; you'd have to understand I dont have one type of beat that would define me or my life. "Movements" is a collective of noise, random answering machine messages, minimalist music and other odd but profound sounds that strike my fancy. "Movements" is a blend based on a dj theory Joe and I shared called 'band style' - I'll save my 'band style' banter for another day...

As you know (or may not know), Joe is/was my good friend, room-mate and circumstantial brother for a few years during my stint on 'the free block' (I can not disclose this info for legal reasons). Living with _anyone_ for 3.5 years you'll bond with them in ways you never knew or expected. I mean, maybe I knew we'd become close friends, closer than we were. Hell, it could've gone sour - quickly. And I'll never forget the day I moved; Joe asked me "You arent moving because of me, are you?". No, Joe.. you know/knew that. 2004-07-26 is when I moved.

During the 3.5 years of living together Joe saw the brunt of my burdens. Nah mean? Joe, being the "heady" guy that he is captured his thoughts and words to/for me and put them into a mix set (when I wasnt home due to work). Joe's iskabibble thoughts for me found a communicative expression via a mix cd... music, a language everyone can understand.

...and just so you know; I called the radio station at said moment to talk - the phone kept ringing...and ringing...and ringing. I think it wasnt meant to be, honestly. I know I've had my moments lately and this made all of it feel ok. Someone really understood me and took the time to convey their thoughts and emotions. I can only thank Joe and thank you...
